The 2014 Gear Live Holiday Bash, in pictures!

A few weeks ago, Gear Live threw down and kicked off the holiday season with the 2014 Gear Live Holiday Bash, and now we've got the pictures to prove it. At the event, I presented my picks for the best holiday gadgets, along with help from my friends Jess Estrada (of FreshJess), GeekWire, Drew Morrison, and New Tech Seattle. We had Seattle's VellVett perform, as well as "Kid Sensation" Xola Malik. Blitz, the mascot for the current Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, made an appearance as well. It was a great night full of food, music, and gadgets giveaways.

Unboxing Live 146: Apple iPhone 6 Plus

Apple has released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and we were on hand at the Apple Store in Lynnwood, WA at the Alderwood Mall to get our hands on one of the first units (and one of the very few gold iPhone 6 Plus models that were in stock.) We open up the new iPhone 6 Plus in this episode of Unboxing Live, and give you a look at the 5.5-inch smartphone in all its glory, along with all included accessories.
If I seemed tired in this one, it's because I arrived at 9:00pm the night before the iPhone went on sale, and this video was recorded 16(!!!) hours later when I finally had the device in-hand and ready to unbox.

Unboxing Live 145: Nespresso VertuoLine

In this episode we open up the Nespresso VertuoLine single-serve coffeemaker. This is the latest innovation from Nespresso, which features new bar code technology that tells the coffeemaker how quick to brew the coffee and at what temperature, depending on the flavor chosen. We open it up in this episode and give you a look at the appliance.
Here are the Nespresso VertuoLine features:
- Fully automatic machine uses a revolutionary new brewing technology for traditional Italian espresso beverages and classic American coffee.
- Advanced, ultra-quiet Centrifusion technology relies on centrifugal force to gently and precisely brew coffee and espresso -- both topped with a natural amber crema for the deepest, most complex flavor and richest aroma.
- Computerized scanning system reads the bar code on your Nespresso VertuoLine capsule, ensuring precision blend-specific brewing for your desired beverage.
- Works exclusively with Nespresso's new premium VertuoLine capsules (12 are included -- eight coffee and four espresso).
- Brews one or two cups of coffee (7.77 oz.) or espresso (1.35 oz.), all with one-touch convenience.
- Machine heats up quickly, reaching optimal brewing temperatures in 15-20 seconds.

Bleeding Edge TV 516: Super-sized iPhone 6 5.5-inch preview!

Recently, we gave you a look at the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, and today we have the 5.5-inch design for you! Apple will announce the iPhone 6 next month, and word on the street is that for the first time, it will announce two new sizes for its flagship smartphone, the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch. What do you think of this one? For me, I think it's a little too big, but we know that there are a lot of people out there who love the large phablet form factor. Are you gonna pick up the iPhone 6? The iPhone 6 is right around the corner, and we are giving you an advance look! Apple should be announcing its next flagship smartphone in September, but thanks to a bunch of leaked images, schematics, and dummy units used by accessory makers, we have a pretty good idea of what it's gonna look like. In fact, we have an iPhone 6 dummy unit here in house, and we show it to you in this episode! We also give our thoughts on the new form factor of the device, and what we like and don't like about it, along with things we hope change in the actual, final shipping version of the iPhone 6.

We were on-hand in Detroit where Ford revealed the 2015 Ford Edge to the world during its 2014 Trends Conference. Check out this video and watch the intro video, followed by the unveiling of the rebuilt SUV. As you can see and hear, the 2015 Ford Edge has been rebuilt from wheel to roof--all new design, and a ton of new technology features.

The HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G1 aims to change the face of the business laptop.
